The biggest change I made while transforming my habits was increasing the time I spent reading, which I always felt I couldn’t find time for. To do this, I deleted all social media apps from my phone and set a goal to read one book each week starting from October 17, 2024. I plan to share my progress here week by week.
Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention
Johann Hari
I'm currently reading.
The Midnight Library
Matt Haig
One of the best novels I’ve read recently. I don’t read novels often, but this one truly stood out with its compelling theme and excellent storytelling.
The Art of Saying No
Müthiş Psikoloji
While it offers some wonderful insights into life, I feel it could be even better with more examples and a storytelling approach.
The Nakano Thrift Shop
Hiromi Kawakami
It had been a long time since I last read a novel, and this was just what I needed. I’d like to include more novels like this in my reading list. It was a book that flowed effortlessly.

Legends and Realities in Ottoman History
Halil İnancık
I’ve always been deeply interested in Ottoman history, and this book offered a wealth of fascinating details about key events. Halil İnalcık is truly an extraordinary historian.
Glucose Revolution
Jessie Inchauspe
This book completely changed my perspective on eating. It was a wonderful coincidence that my first read on nutrition turned out to be this one. I plan to explore more books on nutrition moving forward.
Wabi Sabi: The Wisdom in Imperfection
Nobuo Suzuki
I’ve always admired Japanese culture and their unique perspective on life. This was the first book I picked up to delve deeper into that admiration. It beautifully captures the essence of the Wabi Sabi philosophy.
Why We Sleep
Matthew Walker
This was one of the best books I’ve read in recent years. It truly transformed my perspective on sleep and completely reshaped my daily routine. Sacrificing sleep is no longer an option.
This book takes us on a journey into the inner workings of the brain, reminding me once again what an extraordinary organ it is and prompting me to reflect on the hidden mechanisms behind our decisions.
We often think of history as something lived by those before us, yet each day we experience is also part of history. Nexus brilliantly reflects this, offering a fascinating perspective on the technological advances that have shaped our journey to the present. It questions the scope of artificial intelligence in a compelling way and provides a thought-provoking glimpse into our near future.
The Power of Habit
Charles Duhigg
I can say it’s the best book I’ve read recently. It offers a wonderful perspective on habits, and with its storytelling, it allows you to empathize deeply in many situations. As you read, you begin to question many of your own actions. A true masterpiece.
Make Time
Jake Knapp & John Zeratsky
It turned out to be a great book for me, arriving just when I needed it most, as I felt somewhat adrift. I quickly applied the concepts of focusing and truly creating time to work. Rather than unsustainable suggestions like ‘be ultra-productive, wake up at 5 a.m., and take cold showers,’ this book offered an enjoyable approach centered on focusing on a single goal and reshaping habits to support that focus.
